Twistunes are rhythmic games that appear in story chapters, indicated by its icon. They usually have short story scenarios within them.
They feature a score gauge that fills up as players score points. To score points, players have to tap on the screen when the notes are close to the center of the target area. Depending on how taps are registered, players can receive a "Perfect", "Great", "Good", or "Miss". Consistently receiving "Perfect" or "Great" will give the player a Great Combo, while a "Good" or "Miss" will reset the Great Combo.
Twistunes have score based ranks ranging from C to SS. Players can also score below C which will give them no rank. The scene within a twistune varies based on whether players can or can't reach a designated score threshold. However, twistune scores don't affect story progression as players only need to clear them.
Once cleared in story, players can replay a twistune without any limitations as they have no cost. They have three difficulties: Easy, Normal and Hard. (In story, all twistunes are Easy mode.)
