Don't Worry, I Got This (Part One)

Side Street - Festival

Woo! This year's National Track and Field Meet is rockin'.
And as usual, we got a pack of fat cats in the audience. It's my time to shine!
I've never been more grateful that this thing's held at Night Raven College every year. Shyeheehee!
I better hustle over to Azul. Pardon me, 'scuse me! Comin' through!
Mostro Lounge

Students of Octavinelle, I trust you are all adequately prepared for this?
The National Track and Field Meet is a prime opportunity for profit. We cannot abide failure today.

Heya, Azul. I'm here to work, as promised.

Oh, you came early. It must have been difficult fighting your way through that throng of people.

Nah. The way I grew up, teeming crowds ain't nothing to me.
Anyway, can I go ahead and get changed?

Ah, I see you brought what we discussed. Yes, go ahead. I will be getting changed soon, myself.

Ta-daaa! How do I look?

Yes, very good. You look right at home here in Mostro Lounge.

That's just the robes doin' their thing, but thanks. I gotta say, this is a pretty brilliant idea you came up with.
Usin' these robes as the uniform for the café is sure to get us plenty of attention.

Our school's uniforms are all popular among the local ladies, after all.
We should draw in more customers than ever before. There is even a special menu prepared specifically for our female clientele.
Ha ha... Today's profits are sure to exceed our quarterly best.

Cha-ching! You're a whiz when it comes to money.

My apologies for intruding on your merrymaking, but could I have two soft drinks? I will be carrying them, so you may leave the caps on.

Oh, Jamil. The lounge isn't open for business yet.

I'm afraid that with this many people, the vending machines are completely sold out. My housewarden is waiting, so please. Help me out here.

Fair. If you don't hurry back to Kalim, he might wander off somewhere.

And it's not as though you can keep him on a leash.
Very well. Seeing as we are in the same class, I will allow it, despite the fact that we have not opened yet.

Sorry, and thank you.

Should I grab him a couple cold ones from the fridge?

By all means. That will be four thaumarks a bottle, Jamil.

Four? Talk about a markup.

Naturally. Exceptional circumstances call for exceptional pricing.
We must account for the increase in demand, given the inevitable increase in customer traffic. Basic economics, my friend.

You gonna buy 'em or not?

You two always become so worked up when it comes to matters of business.
Fine, I'll take it. Here, eight marks for two bottles.

Pleasure doin' business with ya!

We look forward to seeing you again.

Ugh... You make for a frightening combination with those uncanny smiles of yours.
I would not have thought that you two would get along so well.
But now I understand why you've teamed up.

I mean, you're not too far off-base. I'm usually not a big fan of snooty know-it-alls.

My, what a coincidence. I myself am not particularly fond of tiny dogs who bark incessantly.
But Ruggie happens to be a good worker, so...

But Azul always gives me lots of work, so...
...it's a win-win situation.

Yeah...

Oooh, what's all the hubbub over here?

Hello, Floyd. Jade. Ah, is it that time already? We must prepare to open shop.

Careful on your way back, Jamil. Hope Kalim's still where you left him.

Don't jinx me. Perhaps I'll swing by again if the mood strikes me. For now, farewell.

Gotcha. We'll be waitin'!
Okay, time to get hyped for the track meet!

Don't Worry, I Got This (Part Two)

Mostro Lounge

Table seven, order in! Two special drinks and a red crab fritter!

Understood. Please take this shrimp salad to counter three.

You got it! I'll bus some tables on the way back, so have someone ready for me in the kitchen!
Phew. We're pretty busy. It's been like this since we opened, so it's only a matter of time until—
  • crash*
Octavinelle Student A
Oh no, I broke a glass!

Heh. Called it. You good? No customers were hurt, right?
Octavinelle Student A
N-no, thankfully.

Okay. I'll take care of the rest, so you get this shrimp salad to counter three.
Don't sweat it. When things're this busy, someone's bound to lose focus and slip up.
Now hurry up and get going. The customer at counter three's waitin' for their food!
Octavinelle Student A
Right!

Good thing the glass was empty when it broke. Gotta sweep up those shards quick.

What're you doing squatting on the ground, Remora? You're in the way.

Oh, Floyd. Perfect.
Could you go grab table five's order? I gotta take care of this mess.

Hmmm... No.

Wha? You got somethin' else to do?

Not really. I've been doing the exaaact same thing on repeat this whole time. I'm sick of it.

Ah, yeah, that'd get you in a bad mood quick.
Usually I'd leave him be, but we might be in trouble without Floyd manning the dining area.

What're you mumbling about? Anyway, I'm outta here.

Ummm, if you go back to the dorm now, Azul's gonna chew you out later, don't you think?

Would he?

I mean, this place is so busy he's relyin' on a hyena like me to help. Can't imagine he'd take kindly to you leaving us in the lurch.

I seem to remember you telling me about that one time you bailed on Azul and how he made you sit perfectly upright for, like, HOURS as punishment.

Ugh. Don't remind me.

We should make it through the rush pretty soon, so just tough it out and you'll get a bonus.

...*sigh*
Can't say I'm all that interested in bonuses. But I guess it's better than getting nagged until my brain turns to mush. I'll go grab the order.

Thanks a million, Floyd. We've got about three hours until close, so hang in there.
I'm so glad he actually listened.
A free spirit he may be, but I guess even Floyd bows down to Azul.
Okay, I got all the broken glass, so I better hustle back to the front lines myself.
Huh? This place is full of customers with no food or drink in front of 'em.

Ruggie.

Azul? What's up?

I'm going to cut off the queue for now. I would like your help.
I honestly didn't anticipate this volume of customers. The kitchen and dining area are becoming more chaotic by the minute.
We need to put a pause on things for a while before we receive any new customers.

Nah, I think we can probably handle it.

Excuse me?

We don't have enough people in the kitchen right now, which is why the orders are buildin' up.
We should find a couple guys in the dining area who can cook and move 'em to the kitchen.

But then the dining area would be understaffed, wouldn't it?

If we only lose one or two people, I think I can still make up the difference.
Once the chaos in the kitchen's died down, send 'em back out to the front of the house.

Hmmm...
Very well. But if things get any more out of hand, I will temporarily close shop.

Heh heh, don't worry, I got this. Okay, I'll leave it to you to switch people around!

Fine by me. I will scout for some talent.

Kitchen! You all need to prioritize gettin' the drinks out before the food.
It helps people pass the time as they wait.
You there—go get table eight's order and clear off table two when you're done!
And you, go start seating people! Make sure to warn 'em which menu items would take a long time to make!
Customer
Excuse me, I'd like to put in my order.

Yep, be right with you!

It looks like things are calming down, slowly but surely. I'm impressed that we actually managed to handle that many customers.

I got another order! Azul, are the orange juice and cream soda I asked for ready yet?

I have them right here. Please be careful not to spill them.

No worries there. Here we are...

This is the next order. I'll be right back after I deliver these, so hurry and get it ready for me!

Understood. The kitchen is more or less caught up, so I will send people back out soon.
Still, you've taken to this like a fish to water. I feel like I could throw another dozen customers your way.

Compared to some other jobs I've had, this's a piece of cake.
I could get food out faster if I balanced a tray on my head. Want me to try it?

That will not be necessary!
