Rollo is the president of Noble Bell College's School Council, as well as the keeper of the "Bell of Salvation." He first appears in the event Glorious Masquerade: Let the Bell of Solace Ring story.

Appearance[]

Rollo is a tall young man with a pale complexion. His hair is grey with streaks of white, and is styled in front with short, choppy bangs following longer sections framing his face above his ears, which lead into thin grey sideburns. His nose is vertically long and flat, and his eyebrows are dark-grey, furrowed and s-shaped. He has sanpaku eyes, which are a pale forest-green with tints of deep blue framed with dark-grey, thick and upturned eyelashes with large hoods above them. His lips are thin and pale, darker on the upper lip and paler on the bottom.

His heavy eye-bags are particularly striking, being a deep grey and even coloring the hoods; because of them, his eyes are creased at the bottoms. His face is typically inexpressive, usually displaying a scowl. He uses a handkerchief to cover up his expressions in public.

Dorm Uniform[]

As the Student Council President, Rollo’s uniform differs from other students, being a closer fit to the outfit of the “Righteous Judge”. In opposition to their small berets, simple and short black robes, hoods, and small ribbons, his uniform is much more intricate. He dons a tricorne, calf-length robes, heeled shoes, and curtain-like fabrics on the back of his coat.

His purple and black striped cap with maroon accents has golden buttons mirroring each-other on its top, having an ankle-length red ribbon which is cut unevenly at the bottom attached to it. On his innermost layer he wears a button-up white turtleneck shirt, white opaque stockings, and calf-length black pants with purple cuffs. His second layer consists of black robes with long sleeves that are puffed below his elbows and slimmed at the wrists. The robe has two triangular cuts below his knee, splitting them into rectangular sections with creases that trace up to his waist. Atop that lies black padded fabric with stripes of purple and maroon that frame it which dangles below his chest and lies on either side of his white shirt. From the fabric, maroon tassels hang down to his waist, and rounded, black and red shoulder-pads point from both sides.

Right below his shoulder-pads are symmetrical golden cuffs carved out in the shape of vines and one large fleur-de-lis on either side. Extending from the padded fabric atop his robes falls a large black fabric with a red inner color and lined with gold accents, being embroidered with golden vines and lilies, which wraps around his elbows and connects behind him in a half-circle. On the backside of his padding falls two large, rectangular red fabrics with golden lining and a triangular-cut fabric in the middle, each one having maroon tassels extend the height to his ankles. Above the robe on his waist lies a purple, golden, vine and flower embroidered corset lined with maroon and buttoned in the middle. Below the corset hangs a purple slash at his hips, lined on each side with gold, extending into golden tassels at the ends. Below the middle of his chest lies a large, golden bell surrounded by lilies connected to two thick fleur-de-lis pointing outwards.

His shoes are black loafers with buckles adorned with three golden lilies on each side. The underside of his heel is a deep purple.

Personality[]

By the other students of Noble Bell College, it’s mentioned that Rollo is both hard on himself and others. He is only accompanied by his Vice President and student Aide, both of whom hold him in high regard and care about following his rules. He maintains a poker-face in front of both acquaintances and strangers, and doesn’t open himself up to anyone easily. To prevent his poker-face from slipping in front of others, he carries around a celestial-patterned handkerchief to cover his mouth with. He is easily disgusted by others, especially magic users. He hates disorderly things and shows his disdain by muttering under his breath, even in public. He often comes across as rude, assuming that everyone shares his pessimistic views and distaste for “nonsense”.

Rollo holds a great hatred for magic and its users, obsessing over them and not bothering to hide how much of a sin he sees practicing it as, despite doing so himself. He is hypocritical in how he views every other magic user as the villain in his story, seeing himself as the only one qualified to use it. He believes that it should be hidden, and the only cure for someone who shows off their magic is for them to lose it completely. He holds extra disdain for Malleus Draconia, who’s magic is especially powerful. Rollo reveals his more arrogant, cruel side when dealing with such people.

He holds a special love for the Fleur City, and is well-versed in its history and festivals, having an extreme respect towards the “Righteous Judge” and the “Bell of Salvation”, but not being fond of the townsfolk’s use of even small spells. As the Bell’s keeper, he feels particularly entitled to it and uses it in his schemes, but also fears its judgement of him.

Background[]

Rollo Flamme was raised in the Fleur City alongside his younger brother. When they were kids, Rollo's brother died in a fire caused by his own magic after it got out of control. Rollo's magic didn't manifest yet at the time, and he wasn't able to save his brother's life. His death led Rollo to hate the use of all magic and its users, and he began to obsess over ways to stop its spread.

Signature Spell[]

Rollo’s Signature Spell is called “Dark Fire”, where he’s engulfed in flames and able to use fire magic. In this state, he maintains a prideful smile on his face.
