Five minutes until my interview. My interviewer should be arriving any time now. I wonder who the Magical Birthday Dice chose. I certainly hope they're a model student.
Yes, I thought the design was a fitting tribute to the Queen of Hearts. I picked this out after studying your tastes and narrowing down what you would like the most.
My room? Well, I'm very particular about making sure it's a conductive environment for studying. I have a storage system that allows me to locate any reference books or other materials I might need at a glance. And for my desk lamp, I ordered one with a bulb that's gentle on the eyes and suitable for long periods spent at the desk.
Interesting. So there are other factors besides sheer hard work that allow you to maintain the top spot in our class. I hope you'll find a use for my gift the next time you study.
It's not simply a lamp. It's a scent diffuser as well. We housewardens have our own rooms, so I thought you might want to adjust its aroma and not just the decor.
I had a feeling you hadn't, which is why I've brought over several essential oils that might suit your tastes. I'd love to just give you all of them, but my gift budget is limited, so if you could pick one...
It's a bit overly stimulating... But it reminds me of the feeling I get when galloping through the woods and fields on horseback. I don't mind it. I do feel refreshed, actually. This might be good for when I want something to lift my spirits.
Let's see... This one's lemon, I believe. Even as an oil, it gives off a fresh, fruity scent. And this one... Yes, roses. There's no mistaking that floral, sweet smell. A fine scent indeed. It reminds me of when the roses in Heartslabyul are in full bloom. I quite like it. Azul, may I choose this one?
Now let's get to the interview, shall we? If you could have any student from Night Raven College as a sibling, who would you choose? And it can't be someone from your dorm.
Silver's an experienced horseback rider who takes club activities seriously. His conduct is mostly unimpeachable... Except for his constant dozing! Why, just recently he nodded off right as we were changing after morning practice. Sebek and I had to physically carry him to class!
Despite his demeanor, he's highly ambitious and values decorum. I've heard he does exceptionally well in his schoolwork, too. He may act arrogant and stubborn, but...he looks out for others, in his own way.
I often end up looking after others, even in the Equestrian Club. I'd have to be extra mindful of any brother I had... So in the interest of not having to sacrifice valuable study time, I'd want someone whose grades and conduct are beyond reproach. Which would mean... Aha.
You can stop right there. Look, I couldn't think of anyone else who fit my criteria. He shows up to class reliably, he's unfailingly polite, and he's never given the teachers trouble as far as I can tell. There's much more I could say about him personally, but I'd choose Jade as my hypothetical younger brother.
It's a long-standing societal rule that elders are respected. An older brother would occupy a higher standing than a younger one. So if Jade committed some grievous misdeed, I would be entitled as his elder brother to correct his actions, right?
What was that? If you have something to say, then speak up. I always strive to set a good example for the entire student body. I'm sure I could be a role model for a younger brother as well.
I should think not. But I suppose I'm expected to answer this sort of question in the birthday interview, and rules must be followed. If I were to transfer elsewhere... I'd choose Diasomnia.
Diasomnia is home to a great many students with outstanding magical prowess, Malleus being the obvious example. So I would fit neatly among their ranks, wouldn't I?
I'm sure their housewarden and vice housewarden being from such a magic-rich realm as Briar Valley has something to do with this, but... Diasomnia students all use magic more regularly than students from other dorms. So if I stayed there, I might gain new magical insights. It's always fascinating to listen to Diasomnia students when they talk in class.
Interesting question. Malleus is a formidable foe, but that makes him worth challenging in my view. I certainly wouldn't get any other opportunities to face off against one of the top five mages in the world. I'll continue to apply myself so that I might hold my own even against Malleus at his best.
Points for bravery, but there's no telling how much grief I'd get if I were to injure the man of the hour... So I'll deliver this gift with the spirit of benevolence. Here goes. Happy birthday, Riddle!
