Ramshackle[]
MC[]
Even though they rarely interact, Kalim is friendly and kind towards MC much like with everyone else. He took them on a ride on his magic carpet and donated the price money he had won from SDC to help them fix Ramshackle dorm.
Grim[]
Kalim is fond of Grim and overfed him with crackers one time.
Heartslabyul[]
Cater Diamond[]
They're both in the Pop Music Club and seem to have a friendly relationship.
Octavinelle[]
Azul Ashengrotto[]
Kalim is impressed by Azul's skills as a housewarden, as well as his effective ways of study and training exercises. He doesn't seem to be wary or mistrusting of Azul, instead welcoming him and his fellow Octavinelle members to stay over at Scarabia dorm for winter holiday. He's also grateful for all the advices Azul offers him on how to improve their dorm's training, noting he feels behind as a fellow housewarden.
Scarabia[]
Jamil Viper[]
The Viper family has served the Asim family for generations and for that reason Jamil and Kalim have been together since they were little. Kalim considers Jamil his best friend. He also relies on Jamil heavily even for everyday tasks and feels gratitude towards him which he often voices. He admits to Jamil that he was surprised when he was chosen as housewarden, but knew that with Jamil by his side, everything would be fine. He also says he's always impressed by Jamil and finds him amazing.[1]
However, he seems to idolize Jamil to the point that he either willfully ignores or is truly oblivious to Jamil's true nature. During Book 4, Kalim is shown to be oblivious about Jamil's mind controlling him, however when questioned by Jade, he seems to know about it. But due to his loyalty toward Jamil, he refuses to tell the truth. When Jamil's plans are uncovered by Azul and the Leech twins, Kalim is in denial and doesn't want to accept that Jamil could ever betray him, claiming he would be the last person to do so. And even when he accepts the truth, his initial reaction is to blame himself for Jamil's actions, still believing that the real Jamil wouldn't behave like this. But eventually he understands that Jamil's actions were wrong, and decides to voice his opinions to Jamil, even declaring he would punch him. But after Jamil comes back to his senses from his overblot, Kalim is only shown to be crying, being relieved that Jamil is alive, and feeling regretful over the fact that he never knew about Jamil's struggles. Even though he understands now that Jamil isn't perfect and he's hurt by Jamil's betrayal, he still believes Jamil to be amazing, and wishes to start over their friendship as equals, ignoring their positions. Jamil refuses this, but Kalim doesn't seem to care, as he continues to consider Jamil his friend.
After the events of Book 4, Kalim defends Jamil's position as a vice housewarden, telling his dorm members that he still has faith in Jamil and believes that no one else can fill in the role as good as Jamil does.[2]
In the original version of the game, it is more explicitly stated that Jamil's family are servants/slaves of the Asim family, thus making Jamil and Kalim's relationship of a servant and master. Meanwhile Kalim seems to not put as much of an emphasis on this aspect of their relationship, most likely due to his status, for Jamil it's not something he can ignore as it is his duty to serve Kalim, regardless of his own desires or goals in life.
Diasomnia[]
Lilia Vanrouge[]
Being members of the Pop Music Club, the two of them seem to be on friendly terms. Kalim considers Lilia's performances unexpected but fun, and also asked Lilia to teach him how to sing lullabies so that his younger siblings would fall asleep.[3]
Malleus Draconia[]
Kalim claims that he does not know Malleus too well in the orientation ceremony. [4] Despite this, they have a very friendly relationship, as Kalim is not intimidated by Malleus's reputation.
Furthermore, Kalim later seems to grow to consider Malleus a friend, referring to him as one at the start of the Firelit Sky event.[5] The two get along very well, both bonding over the course of the trip, despite their shared lack of self-awareness.
During the events of Book 6, one of the first things that Kalim does after Jamil's kidnapping is to call Lilia and ask if both Lilia and Malleus are safe.[6]
