Ramshackle[]

MC[]

Like most characters, Idia gets along with MC. In a voice line, he claims to respect the Prefect for being able to greet a loner like him with a smile. In another voice line, Idia also teases MC for not being able to answer questions from textbooks.

Grim[]

Despite Grim’s blatant contempt, Idia loves Grim and actively tries to pet him due to his resemblance to a cat. Idia offers to tutor the Prefect in exchange for petting Grim,[1] and Idia's birthday wish was for Grim to allow him to pet him.[2]

In Glorious Masquerade, Idia offers to let Grim sit with him, which scares Grim. During The Harveston Sledathon, Idia follows Grim so closely that Grim throws a pillow at him to make him go away. In Idia's Labwear vignette, Idia terrorizes Grim so much that he faints. From there, Grim begins to spread the word that the evil spirit of a mad scientist haunts the school corridor. [3] Grim has even stood next to Cater to keep Idia away from him.[4]

Heartslabyul[]

Riddle Rosehearts[]

Riddle and Idia both share similar responsibilities as housewardens, but handle their duties differently, much to the other’s annoyance. While Riddle prides himself on his punctuality and active leadership, Idia would rather stay out of sight and work from the sidelines.
During an argument, Idia says that Riddle’s irritability freaks him out, and even calls Riddle a “glory hog.” Idia also claims that he thinks Riddle’s value system is too restrictive, and that his own reclusive lifestyle wasn’t causing problems until Riddle arrived and began complaining about it.[5]

Ace Trappola[]

They haven’t shown much interaction at the moment, except for the Phantom Bride event where Ace is one of the grooms who goes to save him and compliments his appearance until (almost) repent.

According to Idia, he is not able to make cool speeches and reason people like Ace. According to Ace, instead, Idia is nice as long as he keeps his mouth shut.[6]

Deuce Spade[]

Idia doesn't have an overly positive view of Deuce's personality, as seen in Wish Upon a Star where the two clash all the time. In this event several times Idia demoralizes and teases Deuce who, however, isn't discouraged. In fact, despite their debates, Deuce is genuinely impressed by the equipment Idia makes for Ortho.

Idia is Deuce's interviewer for his second birthday vignette, where he demonstrates a much milder attitude. Here he is seen trying to console Deuce, very awkwardly and half-heartedly, when he sees Deuce becoming discouraged by his past ideas or actions that have caused embarrassment to him and his seniors.[7]

Cater Diamond[]

Idia and Cater are classmates for the first time in their third year at NRC. Idia actively tries to avoid Cater, fearing him due to his extroverted nature. He frequently comments on Cater's stuffy, sunny disposition, and considers Cater a king of extroverts.

In spite of this, Cater acts familiar with Idia and tries to get him to come out of his shell, much to Idia's chagrin. Cater suggests that Idia removes his helmet during Twisted Halloween: Terror Is Trending, and in Port Fest, he drags Idia out of his dormitory to get him to join a meeting. [8] [9] Cater has even invited himself to visit Idia in his room. [10]

Trey Clover[]

Although Trey is intrigued by Idia, he is suspicious of him far too mature and relaxed personality.[11] That is why he pins Trey at the top of his blacklist of “Turbo Sus Vice Housewardens to Be Avoided at All Costs,” along with Rook.

During Campus Vargas, Trey tries to interact with Idia and it turns out during a conversation that Idia was going to join the Science Club but there were too many people. Trey expresses his displeasure, but Idia is suspicious of his intentions.

Savanaclaw[]

Leona Kingscholar[]

Leona, along with Malleus and Lilia, is one of the characters who knew his position as heir to the Shroud family even before Book 6.

Although not a fan of Idia, Leona still recognizes its strength and intelligence. Similarly, Idia recognizes that Leona (along with Vil and Malleus) is objectively attractive. But he claims that Leona is not fit for a leadership role, perhaps betraying how little he really believes about him. Idia describes Leona as "the kind of guy who always knows how to dream" and seems to have a habit of muttering derogatory things in his face.

Leona and Idia are both chess fans, and Leona gives Idia a handmade chess set for his birthday.[12]

Ruggie Bucchi[]

Is one of the characters in the school with whom Idia interacts the most, despite the fact that they are from different clubs, grades, and classes. In Glorious Masquerade, Idia recognizes a kindred spirit in him, but both characters agree that they speak on different wavelengths.

Ruggie seems to be actively trying to put Idia in debt for a side project, as seen several times in various events. For example, Idia has a voice line about Ruggie offering to do all his cleaning and laundry on his birthday. [13] Or during the second birthday, where Ruggie himself states that while he does not have much reason to interact, approaching Idia is not a bad idea.[14]

Octavinelle[]

Azul Ashengrotto[]

Azul and Idia are both members of the Board Game Club. They have differing tastes in board games; while Idia likes to play luck-based dice games, Azul enjoys board games involving strategy and property management. Idia also seems to find Azul’s panicked reactions to losing a dice game entertaining.[15]
In flight class, they both seem to be rather inept. Idia remarks on this once, saying that they're "close competitors in a race to the bottom."[16]

Overall, Idia thinks Azul is stubborn in his ways, but applauds him for being a hard worker. He also seems comfortable enough around Azul to chat with him face-to-face.
Idia once asked Azul to assist him with doing maintenance on Ortho. According to Azul, this request must have taken a lot of courage on Idia’s part.[17]

Jade Leech[]

Idia assiduously avoids any kind of contact with both Jade and Floyd, to the point that he claims that if he were to change dorms it would be to Octavinelle but would avoid the “sinister twins.” [18]

According to Idia, Jade's obsession with wild mushrooms and plants is embarrassing, and even Jade seems unimpressed with the obsessiveness he puts into creating his Halloween costume, even if it is hidden by a compliment. [19]

In the The Harveston Sledathon event, however, both find themselves finding commonalities several times.

Floyd Leech[]

Together with his twin brother, Floyd is a character that Idia avoids at all costs. If he were to change dormitory would go to Octavinelle, but would be careful of any contact with the “sinister twins.” [20]

Scarabia[]

Jamil Viper[]

Jamil is one of the few individuals he appreciates, so much so that it is he who chooses to be together on a deserted island. Idia likes that Jamil is a polite but discreet person who does not engage him in small talk. Which, according to him, makes him realize that Jamil knows what limits not to cross.[21]

Kalim Al-Asim[]

Idia avoids Kalim, being the antithesis of himself. However, he does not blame him for his extrovert nature, understanding that his intentions are often genuine.

Pomefiore[]

Vil Schoenheit[]

Both don't have a particularly flattering view of the other, but Idia is willing to interact with Vil with a fair compensation as seen in a vignette where Vil asks Idia the favor of helping him with the cineforum.

It seems to be a recurrent lesson that Vil reproaches Idia for his insecure and yielding behavior. In the vignette Wish Upon a Star by Idia, Vil meets Idia who hides out of fear of the crowd and here he earns a hard lesson from Vil about working on himself so that he can be confident in front of others.[22]

A similar event happens again in Book 6, when Vil gives another sermon to Idia, encouraging him to address directly to the creators of his favorite video game, rather than giving up because the efforts of others have failed, but Idia isn't convinced. Despite his tough behavior, Vil does not hesitate to save the lives of Idia and Grim, almost sacrificing himself.

Rook Hunt[]

Idia dislikes Rook's outgoing personality, finding him exuberant but mysterious. In Phantom Bride, Idia describes him as “the prince of a neighboring kingdom who turned out to have secretly protected the protagonist”.

Epel Felmier[]

Being of different grade, clubs and dorm the two rarely interact, as Epel himself admits in Harveston. Here Idia reveals a weak side towards Epel, when he comes to support a lie (which then turns against him) and decides to carry it forward only to avoid his disappointment.

Like most students, Idia judges Epel on his princely and graceful appearances.

Ignihyde[]

Ortho Shroud[]

Ortho is Idia's younger brother, and the one person on campus he seems to be closest with. Although Ortho is technically not a student, he and Idia appear to have a link similar to MC and Grim, who are enrolled as one student. Ortho often attends classes together with Idia, but he's taken out of the classroom when Idia is taking a test.[23]
Idia would rather not go out in public without Ortho by his side, and considers him to be a source of confidence.[5]

Despite this, though, Idia doesn't want to embarrass himself in front of Ortho, which sometimes causes him to stay inside anyway. Idia does want to make time to hang out with Ortho, but the plans often fall short at the last second, usually because his anxiety gets the better of him. To remedy this, he sometimes comes up with indoor alternatives to whatever activity they were planning. For example, when Ortho asked to go to an amusement park, Idia insisted that he can just make one in VR.[24]
Idia claims to have put all his technical experience into making Ortho, and updates his hardware regularly. He seems to have a fear of Ortho becoming obsolete.[25]

Diasomnia[]

Malleus Draconia[]

Idia avoids interacting with Malleus, and he also does not seem so tempted to be in his company. Just like Leona and Vil, Idia is well aware that Malleus is objectively attractive. In a vignette, Idia shows frustration that he was not born with the courage and talent of Malleus.[26]

If he were to go to another dorm besides Ignihyde, Idia would choose Diasomnia. When Leona teases him by saying he is a fanboy of Malleus, Idia rejects and finds a point in common with Leona. [27]

Idia is the only person who agrees with Malleus’s withdrawal from the Spelldrive tournament in Book 2 and in a vignette, in front of Lilia, he claims to suspect that Malleus is intentionally skipping the Housewarden meetings. Although he often reminds other characters of Malleus' power, Idia argues with Sebek about how Malleus may not actually be the most powerful being in the world, much to Sebek’s frustration.[28]

Malleus seems to be the only person (besides Lilia and Leona) who knows of the connection between Idia and the Watchman of the Island of Woe before the Book 6. In Book 7, Idia along with Ortho, Silver, Sebek, MC and Grim (and the support of Styx) is one of the characters who actively tries to stop Malleus and break the spell put on Isle of Sages.

Silver[]

Although Idia avoids Silver because of his "prince aura", he's one of the few characters who doesn't have a negative view of Idia, despite his behavior. According to a voice line by Silver, Idia is "a very well-prepared man" and it’s amazing how Idia can pick up things that cannot be seen (although he was referring to the extrovert aura of Fleur City).[29]

In Glorious Mascquerade both interact and Silver volunteers to teach him the secret of singing, as well as giving a passionate speech to Idia about always belittling himself. Idia is Silver’s interviewer for his third birthday vignette.[30]

In Book 7, Silver is one of the characters who cooperates most assiduously with Idia and Ortho to try to wake everyone from the spell imposed by Malleus.

Sebek Zigvolt[]

Idia and Sebek get along like oil and water and when they interact they tend to fight as seen in Wish Upon a Star, Glorious Masquerade and Harveston.

In Harveston, Idia’s dislike for Sebek leads him to make a joke: he recommends a stuffed squirrel to pull his sleigh, forgetting that despite being fast runners "they fall apart as soon as too much gas is given", a fact that happens later. In the same event, when the team loses Sebek during the race, Idia encourages them to continue without him. Several times Sebek reproaches Idia for his attitude, widely reciprocated.

In Glorious Masquerade, Sebek proves ready to praise Idia until he states: "You may be a twisted and annoying human being, but I suppose even a broken clock has the right time twice a day".

In Book 7, Sebek is one of the characters who cooperates most assiduously with Idia and Ortho to try to wake everyone from the spell imposed by Malleus.

Lilia Vanrouge[]

Idia isn't fond of Lilia, refusing to attend his farewell party claiming that they aren't friends, have no good memories and have no reason to be sad about his departure. Idia considers Lilia as someone he might like to be stuck on a deserted island with, but vetoes him after deciding that Lilia would probably “throw a wrench in the works” and not respond well to instructions.

Neither of them realized that they have been online friends for two years under the nicknames Gloomurai (Idia) and Muscle Red (Lilia). Idia calling Muscle Red his “one and only trusted companion.” In Book 7, Idia weeps openly at the news that Muscle Red (Lilia) would retire from video games.

Lilia along with Malleus and Leona is one of the characters who knew about his position as heir to the Shroud family even before the Book 6.

Night Raven College Staff[]

Dire Crowley[]

Idia does not appreciate Crowley, calling him a “conceited adult who dumps unpleasant work on his students”. In Glorious Masquerade, he claims that he could sue Crowley for sharing personal information with Rollo Flamme. In Wish Upon a Star and Glorious Masquerade, Idia is seen to be suspicious about the selection of students to participate in events.

However, to some extent Crowley cares of him, though always with ulterior motives. For example, he allows Idia to have Ortho participate in classes with him and conduct classes remotely. In Phantom Bride, he is also the person who most insists on trying to unite the other students to save him, although it was more to avoid any infamous stain on the academy's reputation or Ortho destroying it with his beam.

Sam[]

Idia is a regular customer of Sam's store, where he stocks up on snacks, noodles and is once quoted going to buy manga. For Beanfest, Idia makes a deal with Sam: he would design, implement, and supply Sam with the necessary weapons to carry out the event; provided, that Sam would allow him to hide in the neutral area of the school store.

They have such a good relationship, in fact, that Sam goes so far as to give him some of his favorite snacks for his birthday. Idia is one of the few instances where he feels that Sam has decided to give something away.
