Ramshackle[]
MC[]
It is clear from the voice lines that MC is having difficulty following the subject taught by Crewel, who quickly reminds them that he would not tolerate a single student failing the exam.
According to Crewel, MC and Grim are the biggest troublemakers he has ever seen among his students. It is not unlikely, however, that most of the problems stem from Grim. [1] [2]
Grim[]
Grim is considered to be a great troublemaker by Crewel; this is most likely due to his character and his ineptitude to attend classes properly. Crewel tends to be very strict with Grim, who doesn't like this side of him. However, he isn't always driven toward reprimand, as Crewel's also willing to give compliments and help if Grim shows initiative to improve in his studies. [3] [4]
Usually Grim tends to avoid skipping Crewel and Trein's lessons just to avoid them 'harassing' him. [5]
Heartslabyul[]
Deuce Spade[]
Deuce seems to like Crewel, and, given his poor grades, appears to spend more time than the other students in his year taking remedial lessons and tutoring under his care. In Fairy Gala, Crewel rebukes Deuce by claiming that he still has a lot to learn, especially academically.
Crewel takes over for looking after both Ace and Deuce during Book 6 after they get knocked uncoscious during the fight the Ferrymen of S.T.Y.X and is furious that anyone would dare to harm any of the 'pups' under his tutelage.
Savanaclaw[]
Jack Howl[]
Jack tends to be at a loss for how to handle Crewel, describing him as 'intense'. In his opinion, anyone who ends up acting mean under his sights tends to end up badly. The only way to save yourself is to pray for mercy and forgiveness. [6]
He shows great respect to Crewel and is grateful when he teaches him something new or gives him and the other students something that he knows has put a lot of care and time into. During Port Fest, Jack is the only student who mentions wanting to thank Crewel for his efforts in designing their outifts. There have been instances, however, where Jack has shown complete distrust of Crewel and his teachings. [7]
The two overlap in Book 6 where Jack checks in with Crewel. Crewel compliments him on a motivational speech that he gives to Epel about focusing on the present. [8]
Octavinelle[]
Floyd Leech[]
Crewel and Floyd seem to barely tolerate one another, as seen during the Halloween event: Crewel blames Floyd for harassing Magicam Monsters until he is defended by nameless Octavinelle students or, when, in Spectral Soiree, together with Riddle, they are expelled from the Dark Mirror and are then scolded.
As well, there are various events in which Crewel and Floyd argue. The latter points out in an outburst with Jade that, although he is not the only one with bad grades in class, Crewel only takes it out on him.
Night Raven College Staff[]
Dire Crowley[]
Crewel and Crowley seem to get along well. Crowley greatly appreciates Crewel's sense of style, wishing that one day he could get an outfit customized by him. According to Crewel, the Headmage is always very busy dealing with one matter or another for the student body, but it's unclear what he's actually doing most of the time. [9]
He's very curious to know Crowley's real age or anything related to his figure but, on the one hand, he doesn't want to poke his nose into things that don't concern him; more out of hesitation than respect. [10]
Mozus Trein[]
Since his youth, Crewel has proved he couldn't stand Trein. Under his care and tutelage like student of the Night Raven College, Crewel had to rely on Trein for guidance to become a mage. Crewel spent just as much time quarrelling with Trein as he did cooperating with him, while Trein did his best to teach him discipline and righteousness.
While Crewel's relationship with Trein, on the outside, it appears flippant actually there is enough confidence to push Trein, in Glorious Masquerade, to entrust to Crewel with the care of his beloved cat, Lucius.[11] The two disagree on many points and they have naturally clashing personalities, and are bound to fight whenever they meet, but have found common ground, playing chess together and bickering over the merits of cats over dogs and vice verse. [12]
Crewel's “hard-headed” and unconventional nature still seems to have been a source of reproach on his part now that they are co-workers.
Ashton Vargas[]
The two seem to get along quite well, although Vargas isn't happy with Crewel's lack of interest in muscles. According to Crewel, Vargas looks very different with his hair down. [13]
Sam[]
Crewel gets along well with Sam. According to Crewel, Sam has some talent with the piano and that it's great to listen to him play. Even though they have two different tastes in fashion, Crewel finds his outfits fun.[14] [15]
