Diasomnia Dorm - Lounge

Now, when did I give that to you again...?
I believe it was back when Silver finally started standing up on his own. You still play with it?

I didn't really know what the right stopping point was. It turned into something of a routine over time.
It's stopped working a few times, but I just get it fixed whenever it does.

I see, I see.
Your magic and lightning tends to make precision tech like smartphones go kaput...
But little Drago here's a cheap toy with parts that are easy to replace.
I suppose that's why he's stuck around so long.

Oh, now I have to clean up your waste? You little scamp.

Khee hee hee.

Is something amusing?

I was thinking back to the first time Drago reached the end of his life span.
I remember how you fled the castle and dashed over to my house.
You looked so flustered as you said...
"Lilia. When I woke up this morning, Drago was gone. Now there's this egg in his place. What should I do?"
Khee hee hee.

I simply...wasn't aware that he and I would inevitably have to part ways.
Never had I imagined a toy would be given a finite life span.
No matter how fastidiously I care for him...
Drago is always gone in less than a month, leaving a little egg in his place.
Why did humans design him that way?

Hm. You think a month is too short?

The exact length isn't the issue. Drago is a fictitious creature made to be a companion, is he not?
So I hardly see the need to assign him a finite life span at all.
That's my view, at least.

Ah, it's a good point.
Maybe you're right. It's a fairy-tale game, designed to comfort people.
Perhaps there's no harm in indulging in its fantasy—one where people live on indefinitely, so long as you take care of them.
But couldn't you also argue that knowing about the end makes us truly treasure our time together?
And really, the longer we spend together, the harder it is to part ways...

...Lilia?

Well! I've gotten the housewarden's permission to use the lounge. I'd best hurry along; so many invitations to get out, you know.
See you around, Malleus!
Saturday night will be my last party. I'm sure it will be a celebration for the ages.
You'd better not miss it!

His...last party...

...?
