Scalding Sands - Zahab Market

This is a different market. You think that Malleus would have come here by himself? |

Positive. He should be right nearby. |

Where were you all? I was looking everywhere for you. |

Malleus?! Wow, Jamil was right on the money. |

Good grief. When you disappeared on us, I was worried we were going to have a major incident on our hands! |

Didja really think that anything bad could happen to Malleus? |

No. But I'm relieved that Silk City is still in one piece. |

What do you mean by that? |

Regardless, it looks like there wasn't any trouble at all, which is always a good thing. |

It's so great we found them, Malleus! |

Kalim?! What are you doing here?! I thought you had hosting duties! |

That wrapped up faster than expected. So Dad told me to go spend time with my friends while we had the chance. I was coming to meet up with you, when I found Malleus walking all by himself! Boy, was that a surprise! |

A lucky coincidence, then. |

I'm just wondering how you knew Malleus would be here, Jamil. You were surprised to see Kalim, so I'm guessing you two weren't in touch beforehand. |

Oh, that. The bells on his clothes contain GPS devices. |

Wait a minute. Do our clothes have them too? |

Of course. You're all wearing them. |

Dude, YIKES ON BIKES. I'm ditching these bells pronto! Wait... Huh? |

We can't pull them off. Man, they're really sewn on there. Don't you think trackers are going a little overboard?! |

Silk City is a very crowded place. If we got separated and for some reason I couldn't reach you on your phone, trying to find you would be a nightmare. But with these GPS devices, I can find you no problem. And they worked exactly as intended. |

Hmm... I guess you do have a point... |

By the by, might I ask what a GPS device is? |

You acted all shocked and didn't even know what it was?! |

Jamil can solve any problem just like that! |

I'd rather there be no problems at all. |

Viper's right about the crowds. This market's just as packed as the Camel Bazaar. |

Indeed. Zahab Market doesn't just have food. People here sell silks, dishware, furniture, and more. It's another one of our main markets. |

Is there a story behind its name too? |

Zahab means gold. I believe it was named that because the goods on offer included everything up to actual gold. And indeed, a great many stalls here do sell luxury goods. |

I'm seein' lots of 'cammable stuff around! |

If you want to shop, go right ahead, but just make sure to keep an eye on your valuables. Pickpockets hit this area a lot. They like to target people flashing cash around. |

Hey, look at all those people over there. What's going on? |

Street performers put on shows in that area. |

There are so many of 'em. Jugglers, balloon artists, mimes... Looks worth checking out. |

Hmm. An even larger crowd's gathering over there. |

Mrah?! There's a monkey ridin' a ball and jugglin' beanbags! |

That's one clever monkey. Is that its owner next to it? |

Oh this is ADORBS! |

Hmph! I could do that in my sleep. Hey, [MC]. Do a trick! |

Grim, do you believe yourself to be the owner and [MC] the pet...? |

'Course. [MC]'s my hench-human. |

What an impudent monster you are. I imagine that monkey has far better manners than you. |

Excuse me?! Don't start gettin' an attitude with me, Hornton! |

Hey, that monkey's laughin' at me! |

Now, now, no need to get upset. So, have you been enjoying your grand tour? |

Totes. What with all the retro tents and colorful fruits and veg, I've got 'cammable content for DAYS! |

For sure. We've tried loads of new foods, too. |

It's been a pleasant taste of local life in Silk City. |

Glad to hear it! Jamil's a great tour guide, isn't he? But man... Now I REALLY wish Lilia could've come, since you're all having such a good time. |

He must have been so devastated when he got that stomachache. |

He did sound quite frustrated. Lilia's an avid traveler. He went on many trips abroad during our time together in Briar Valley. Given how rarely I left our borders, I was continually fascinated by the tales of his sojourns. I always looked forward to the souvenirs he brought me as well. They were the highlight of my day. Which is why I'd like to purchase something for him while I'm here. One good turn deserves another. |
That's a great idea, Hornton! | What a lovely sentiment, Hornton. |

Is that so? In that case, I would welcome your input. |

Well, if [MC]'s on board, I should get something for Lilia too! |

We should all get him something! He'll totally love it. |

Good thinking. We'll bring a bit of the Scalding Sands back to him. |

I'm sure you can find something he'll like in this market. |

All right, let's find you all some souvenirs. |
